"What Is Fashion?"

Ok, so today I got asked the question 'What is fashion?', it took me a while to think about it and come to a real answer that I believed in, but basically this is what fashion is to me.

"Fashion is not just what you wear. It's what makes you, you, and separate to anyone else. If it wasn't for fashion, life would be dull, we couldn't simply 'make' friends or ever be intrigued by a certain person as there'd be nothing to draw you to a him/her.
A person couldn't say they weren'...t interested in fashion as what they do wear is their own representation of it. And although we 'shouldn't' judge a book by it's cover, people always will do that. Fashion is just a way to make that first judgement a positive one."

It didn't take long, so sorry if it's rubbish, but tell me what you think?

And tell me, what is fashion to you?

Pearl & Daisy. Daisy & Pearl.

So, by now you've probably heard about Pearl Lowe's new range of clothes for Peacocks. If not, i'm about to tell you about it anyway! If you don't know who Pearl Lowe is, she's Daisy Lowe's 40 year old, very fashionable, mother. If you don't know who Daisy is, well, you must live under a rock of some sort.
Modeled by Daisy below, the peacocks collection is inspired by riverside summer picnics, croquet on the lawn and long fun-filled summer days. Pearl says, "Everyone knows my love of vintage and I haven’t let down my fellow lovers of dresses inspired by days gone by with some fabulous summer tea dresses.” The tea dresses are my favourite part of the collection epsecially when paired with the long woolen socks, I can see this being a great part of my summer wardrobe this year.
Another thing I love about the collection is the prices. With prices starting from £10 for a top, and the dresses just £30-£40, you can't really go wrong!
So, take a look at the new collection, (out today), here. And if you're going to buy something, make sure you do it soon as I can see this being a very popular collection!

Dancing at discos, eating cheese on toast Yeah, you make me merry, make me very, very happy.

Olivia Palermo

Olivia Palermo is my absolute style idol. I love how all her outfits have the same base but are all still really different. From when she's wearing a dress, to a top and trousers, the outfit is always topped with extravagant shoes, brilliant jacket and an amazing bag. Her hair is also a main part of her style, i love it, especially when it's long and wavy, this gives it an effortlessly chic look. mm, i'm a tad envious of this girls amazing wardrobe.

Tuesday 11 May 2010

I saw the most amazing old woman on the way home from school today. The woman was about 80 years old and not exactly pretty, but, the clothes she wore made her look brilliant.
She was wearing an amazing long brown trench coat, with big shoulders and a clinched waist with a vintage silk headscarf round her head. All topped off with a dash of red lipstick. I really wish I'd taken a picture as it looked amazing.
When I'm an old lady, I aspire to be like her.

Beautiful.

I wish I looked like this.

Monday 3 May 2010

they might say hi, and i might say hey, but you shouldn't worry about what they say, because they've got nothing on you baby.

I've had such a good long weekend.
Friday was average, just went to my Dad's on the evening. Saturday I went to the cinema, with my, as of 2 days ago, boyfriend Ryan, to watch Dear John, it was pretty good actually, even if it was a bit cheesy! Sunday was actually really fun! All we did really was go to my friend, Lucy's house, we gossiped, laughed a lot, played hide and seek?! and took plenty of pictures. It was so so fun. Then today, I went to Costa and chilled with Rosie, then met up with Ryan in the evening.
So yeah, overall a pretty good long weekend and not really looking forward to school tomorrow!
